Installation Instructions - Furrion

Furrion A/C Connect by KoolRV

Installation Instructions

PLEASE NOTE - Effective April 18, 2024, all Furrion systems ship with an updated adapter to make installation easier. Thank you to all who helped us develop the new adapter! We joke that our systems are a “1 beer” job. We would rate our Furrion AC Connect as a “2 beer” job. It is a tight fit inserting the system in place. This also makes it more difficult to secure the AC adapter in place with screws. As always, we would greatly appreciate your feedback as to any improvements we can make. You can email your thoughts, pictures and/or videos to info@koolrv.com as well as any questions that may arise during installation. We are constantly looking to improve our products and processes so your input is invaluable to us. Thank you for choosing KoolRV!

  1. Remove center cover and filters from A/C ceiling assembly. (Please note that your ceiling assembly may differ)

  1. Remove the screws holding the cover in place (be careful to hold the cover as you remove the screws to prevent breaking the cover). Set the cover to the  side to be reinstalled.

  1. Locate the four bolts holding the mounting bracket in place. Carefully support the bracket as you remove the bolts. Removing the mounting bracket will expose a large open area under the A/C called the plenum. A divider separates the plenum into two compartments. OPTIONAL - you may remove the upper portion of the divider if you so choose but it is not required for fit.

  1. Our system ships with the vent adapters turned 90 degrees to minimize risk of damage during shipping as well as to minimize packing space. You will need to turn the vent adapters 90 degrees. Hold the two vent adapters and press slightly toward AC adapter to keep the ducting collapsed. Turn in desired direction.
  2. Now it is time to install the A/C Connect system. As you will see, the fit on the right side is very tight. Holding the system in the middle, insert the compact vent adapter into the opening on the side of your plenum while also inserting A/C adapter into the square opening in the bottom of your Furrion AC. The fit will be snug.

  1. Use the enclosed self tapping screws to secure the A/C Connect to your air conditioner. Screws will need to be angled into the corners to secure the system to the plastic basepan. We have indicated two places for screws but again, due to space constraints, these may be difficult to reach. Use your judgment as to the best location for placement for you. Remaining screws can be used to secure the vent adapters if needed.
  1. Next, take the remaining vent adapter attached to your system and insert it into the ventilation opening on the left side of the plenum. It should slide easily behind the bolts securing your A/C to your roof. If your vent openings are too small or too big all is not lost! Please visit My Vent Adapter Doesn’t Fit! for instructions on adapting our system to your rig. You may find an insert like the one in the picture below with a divider running down the center. Simply remove this insert to install our vent adapter.
  1. Your system comes with HVAC foil tape. Tape around the vent adapters to secure them in place and prevent air leaks. The vent openings in your plenum may be larger than the vent adapters you have just inserted. Use the foil tape to cover any excess opening around the vent adapters.
  1. It’s time to test your A/C!!! Turn on your A/C and feel around the A/C Connect system. You are feeling for cold air leaks. You will feel and hear the air rushing into the A/C so don’t get confused. You are feeling for cold air specifically. If you find any leaks, simply use the foil tape to stop them. Once you have completed that, your system is fully installed!
  2. Reattach the mounting bracket and secure with the four bolts. Be careful not to overtighten.
  1. Reattach your A/C cover, filters and filter covers. Now, it’s time to enjoy your KoolRV!
